As the Olympics 2024 approach, EFAD is proud to announce the release of two vital resources for sports dietitians: infographics on Low Energy Availability (LEA) & Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) risk factors and management, and an Anti-Doping Toolkit, developed by the EFAD's ESDN Sports and Physical Activity. These resources, along with accompanying background documents, are designed to enhance the support dietitians provide to athletes, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to anti-doping regulations.

Empowerment, Guidance, and Support: Patient-Dietitian Experiences for Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Remote Consultations
 
This study aimed to explore the patient-dietitian experience during an 18-week nutrition counselling intervention delivered using the telephone and a mobile application to people newly diagnosed with upper gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer.

Toolkit to reduce consumer food waste

The toolkit was developed as part of the European Consumer Food Waste Forum project and includes four video tutorials, a food waste action planner to take inspiration from other successful projects, a food waste prevention calculator to calculate environmental, and economic impacts and benefits of actions, and the nutritional value of saved food, and tailored recommendations for policymakers, businesses, schools in all EU languages.

24 June marks the start of Self-Care Month, which ends with Self-Care Day on 24 July.

This year’s Self-Care Month marks the 5th anniversary of WHO launching the first global Guideline on self-care interventions for health and well-being.
