Celiac Disease Awareness Week

Celiac Awareness Week 2023 runs from May 13th - 20th, and International Celiac Day was on May 16th.
🥨 Maintaining a strict, life-long, gluten-free diet is the only treatment for celiac disease. Dietitians can help people with celiac disease by suggesting suitable foods, taking into account their food preferences, including all the necessary nutrients such as energy, fibre, vitamins and minerals in their diets.
⚜️In honour of this week, we are looking back on the webinar organised by EFAD's ESDNGastroenterology, this past February on the pathophysiology and dietary approach of celiac disease compared to non-celiac gluten hypersensitivity (NCGS).

Updates on EFAD Projects

Back in November 2022, EFAD conducted a survey on coffee consumption, supported by the Institute of Scientific Information on Coffee, indicating that coffee is a popular beverage throughout Europe, with dietitians across Europe reporting that the majority of their clients consume coffee regularly.

520 out of the 585 survey participants took part in the prize competition and got a chance to win 500€ for the 14th EFAD conference (fee + travel expenses).
EFAD’s jury went through all the inspiring responses to the competition question: “Why would you like to attend the 14th EFAD Conference 2023 and how this experience will help you become a better practitioner?” and nominated the following 4 winners (in random order):

 Vasiliki Karagianni, Sweden
 Marta Csanalosi Artigas, Germany
 Sebastian Catana, Romania
Beatriz Rocha Fama Ferreira Neves, Portugal
Thank you all for your responses!
