We are delighted to welcome you to the webinar organized by EFAD and supported by Yakult. Our aim with this event is to increase awareness about the roles of malnutrition, frailty, and inflammation in the context of healthy ageing.

We are honoured to have two renowned speakers, Prof. Marian de van der Schueren and Prof. Paul O’Toole, who will present the latest state-of-the-art evidence on these topics. Following their presentations, a roundtable of EFAD experts will translate this research into practical advice that dietitians and other healthcare professionals can use in their everyday practice.

📣 EFAD is seeking dietitians to lead the European Specialist Dietetic Network (ESDN) for Food Service from 2024 to 2028. This role focuses on advancing the field of food service dietetics, for vulnerable groups and others.

How Can Distance Learning Help with the Future of Dietetics Education?
 
The purpose of this narrative review is two-fold: to summarize the state of knowledge regarding distance education in nutrition and dietetics education over the past 30 years to inform recommendations for future education/research and implications for practice and to determine the influence that distance education has had on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of both nutrition and dietetics educators and their students.

Considering a more sustainable gluten-free diet? Gluten-free cereals in European dietary practice

An international pilot survey among practising dietitians was conducted during the 14th EFAD Congress (Budapest, 2023). Respondents marked their recommendation for eight gluten-free cereals based on five criteria, including nutritional quality, accessibility/price, and climate change.

Commercial Determinants of Noncommunicable Diseases in the WHO European Region

This report highlights the substantial impact of commercial determinants on noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in the WHO European Region. Nearly 7500 deaths per day in the Region are attributed to commercial determinants, such as tobacco, alcohol, processed food, fossil fuels and occupational practices.
