The EFAD Budapest Resolution presented in WHO Europe
The recently published EFAD Budapest Resolution called upon the WHO not to leave nutritional care behind. WHO Europe responded and in November the EFAD Budapest Resolution was presented to Dr Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director, Dr Kremlin Wickramasinghe, Head a.i. WHO European Office for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), and Dr Julianne Williams, Technical Officer, WHO. WHO Europe expressed their interest in EFAD's work and the contribution of dietitians in the prevention of NCDs, malnutrition and access to nutritional care leaving no one behind. This meeting was followed by an invitation to train the trainer courses, and programmes in preventing childhood obesity and the increasing hunger in children in the WHO European region. We are committed to collaborating in these areas and connecting to countries where the workforce is lacking dietitians. Every European citizen should have access to nutritional care.

New WHO toolkit for tackling misinformation on noncommunicable diseases
Noncommunicable disease-related and health misinformation is a growing concern as more and more individuals obtain their health information from digital venues such as search engines or social media platforms. While increased access to information on health issues can be seen as generally positive, the spread of inaccurate medical information is of course problematic. It can lead to harmful lifestyle or dietary choices, self-medication, the abandonment of medical treatment and incorrect diagnoses. The WHO collected insights on the spread of inaccurate medical information from key stakeholders - including representatives from Member States, the media and social media sectors, and civil society - in its new toolkit.
